WIP is available for Windows 10 devices running version 1607 or later and can be managed through Intune, SCCM, or some third-party MDM solutions your company may be using.

WIP allows us to do the following:

• Allows users to use their personal devices to access company data without switching environments or apps
• Wipe devices while leaving personal data alone
• Track issues and remedial actions with audit reports
• Integrate with our MDM solution

An example scenario would be when data is downloaded via a device protected with WIP (such as from SharePoint to a removable USB drive). Here, the data will be encrypted on the device (the removable media, in this case). When the employee who downloaded the data leaves the company and they're removed, the encryption keys that they used to encrypt that data become invalid and attempting to open the file...
