Summary

In this chapter, we delved into the various aspects of networking services in OpenStack. At this point, you should be comfortable with networking services. You should also be aware of the benefits of the Neutron API and the support of several plugins that allow you to diversify the networking hardware setup within OpenStack.

We started with Layer-2 networking choices and discussed about the routing service. Next, we discussed security functions such as FWaaS and security groups. At this stage, you should be able to understand the difference between FWaaS and the security groups and how to configure them at the network and port level.
