As our network becomes more scalable, we need to broaden the current architecture designs of our network to incorporate better switches and routers to meet the demand. There may be times when we have a specialized demand and a specific set of hardware needs to be added to our network to meet those demands.
Another requirement may be to lower the cost while increasing the scalability. In this case we would need to add different vendor switches to meet the demand. There might also be a very specific demand for a certain office or a site. In this case, we need to add different vendor hardware to fulfill some specific requirements.
All of the scenarios that we have just observed have one thing in common. To meet demand or specific requirements, we cannot rely on a single vendor solution on the network.
